Digital Twin & Cyber Security Lab

The focus of the Digital Twin & Cyber Security Lab (DTCS) is on the analysis and experimental validation of new solutions and techniques for the modeling and orchestration of devices within the framework of Cyber-Physical Systems

The Digital Twin & Cyber Security Lab is coordinated by Prof. Carlo Giannelli.

The adoption of Digital Twins as intermediaries between systems using the devices and the devices themselves not only decouples the interacting parts but also models their behavior to verify the correctness of the interactions.

The DTCS Lab is involved in several scientific research projects funded through public grants and collaborates with various companies, including Alstom Ferroviaria, OCEM Airfield Technology, Carpigiani Group, and SACMI.

The DTCS Lab also has solid expertise in the analysis and experimental validation of techniques to prevent from, identify, and counterattack cyber-threats and cyber-attacks, especially in IoT devices and industrial environments.

By adopting cybersecurity techniques and tools, Digital Twins can be equipped with the ability to prevent, identify, and implement mitigation measures against cyber-attacks. This approach cohesively considers aspects of networking, Quality of Service management, and adaptive management of network and computational resources.
